About Me

NYC PR girl, and all-around mover and shaker, tweeting and blogging about her lap-band adventures.
After 20+ years of dieting, I’ve decided to take the leap to having lap-band surgery. It wasn’t an easy decision, but it finally hit me that all I’m doing is making something I’ve been trying to do pretty much my whole life a lot easier. And it really is a matter of health.

My starting weight is 262lbs. And I have a goal weight of 155lbs 145lbs (this is undecided, but something I’m thinking about 11-28-11).

In order to make things a bit more interesting, I’ve come up with a little incentive program.

So here is what I’m thinking:

15lbs – mani/pedi  check!

30lbs – facial or massage check!

60lbs – I’ll allow myself to contact my ex-bf. Ok, ok, I do know that this is an odd and ill-advised idea, and I kinda hope by the time I hit this mark I won’t care to do it–but for now, it’s what keeps me from NOT contacting him on any given day. I’m just picturing a message via Facebook (so that he can see an accompanying photo) that just says ‘hey, how ya been’. And also, a new dress. check! oh, and really, this ex is in touch with me on a regular basis, and has seen photos and is super complimentary. BUT thankfully, I’ve moved on, so I’m not affected in the same way at all. Also, I’ve had to buy myself a lot of dresses at this point, because, well none of my old stuff fits me!

Anyway…

80lbs – Christian Louboutin heels I wasn’t thinking about how some of these wouldn’t only require pounds lost, but also money…which I don’t have to buy Loubs right now. But I did buy myself some Tom Ford sunglasses for my birthday/around the -70lbs  mark, so that’s going to have to suffice.

110lbs – out of country vacation–still need to figure out where

  1. Very nice! I like this! What a great idea to make such concrete and fun incentives from the beginning. Good for you!
